What’s the secret of the old, empty barn? Find out on this special event on Saturday 17 October…
The team at Road Farm Countryways will be giving some special glimpses into life on a farm, and what goes on there. Choose from three tours:-
9.30am: Discovering our local plants: a helping hand to identify hedgerow and field species in the Autumn. Wendy Gray will lead you on a 1 mile max walk around the farm to help your confidence at knowing what’s growing! All ages welcome; all terrain wheelchair can be borrowed if needed.
12 noon: Farm Field Relics to explore the past: a gentle wander across certain farm fields, considering relics, geology and natural features which help explain our landscape. Duncan Gray will take you over nearby fields and up to the woods, unravelling tales of local history.
2.00pm: Ancient Barns, Cisterns and Flint walls: Road Farm with Farmer David, following on from his popular Chalk Cherries and Chairs Cluster group Clip on YouTube.
Numbers on each tour are limited, so book now.
